Brady Campaign Endorses Frosh For Attorney General

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence has endorsed state Sen. Brian Frosh in his Democratic primary bid for attorney general.

The Brady Campaign on Friday cited the senator's leadership on a sweeping gun-control bill that passed last year.

Sarah Brady, who chairs the organization, says there's no better advocate for public safety in Maryland than the Montgomery County senator.

Frosh led the debate for the measure in the Maryland Senate last year. The law bans 45 assault weapons, requires handgun purchasers to submit fingerprints to get a license and prohibits people involuntarily committed to a mental health facility from owning a gun.

Frosh is running against Del. Jon Cardin and Del. Aisha Braveboy for the Democratic nomination for attorney general.

The primary is June 24.
