Dan Connolly thinks this Orioles ball club can compete for the AL East title, but not for the reasons one might assume. Connolly believes Baltimore simply fortunate to be the best of a currently average division.

“There’s not a team better than the Orioles in the AL East right now. I think they’ll be in [the race] partially because there’s no stronger team right now.”

Connolly also mentioned that not only are the first place Blue Jays an average team, but he thinks the Orioles can gain an edge by trading for a starting pitcher.

“I believe Dan Duquette will do something. I would be surprised if he didn’t.”
