Hagerstown Community College Gets Cyber Grant

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Hagerstown Community College is getting a grant of about $714,000 from the National Science Foundation to boost its cybersecurity programs.

Local media partners report the college will get help from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

HCC now offers associate of science degrees in cybersecurity and applied cyber security.

The college will collaborate with the Information Security Institute at Johns Hopkins, so that cybersecurity students can participate in research work and be mentored by graduate students from the university.

Hopkins faculty members will also help design and teach short courses at HCC.
