Casey Stern of MLB Netowork Radio joined Glenn and Bob on Sports Rehab to breakdown all the moves that happened at the MLB trade deadline.
The two big moves at the trade deadline were starting pitchers Jon Lester going to Oakland and David Price going to the Tigers. The Tigers now have the last three Cy Young award winners in their rotation. Oakland’s acquisition of Lester comes on the heels of the A’s trading for Jeff Samardzija and former Oriole Jason Hammel. The Orioles got some help for the bullpen by trading for Andrew Miller from the Red Sox. When asked about the Orioles not trading for a top of the rotation starter, Stern replied ” The Andrew Miller move will help the Orioles bullpen but not getting a Lester or Price means the Orioles will just be a playoff team and not a World Series contender.”
