WEATHER BLOG: Shaky Evening

Frontal zone moving in from the north will be the cause of a couple of showers and a thunderstorm around the area this afternoon into the evening. The heating ahead of the front could result in sufficient instability to produce some strong wind gusts with the storms. Behind the front we dry out nicely for tomorrow and Friday. Questions remain for the weekend as to the track of low pressure and associated moisture into the mid-Atlantic region. The worst case scenario and something that is not out of the realm of possibility is for there to be rain at times both days. However we are leaning toward the majority of models which keep Saturday dry then have an increasing chance for wet weather Sunday into Monday. But not even that is a lock, as the European keeps it fairly dry right through Monday. So at this point, there are no forecast changes.
