Motorcyclist Ejected From Bike Dies From Injures Week After Collision

SILVER SPRING, Md. (WJZ)-- Montgomery County Police are investigating a now fatal collision involving a motorcycle that occurred last week.

Just before 6 p.m. on August 14, officers and fire/rescue personnel responded to the intersection of Columbia Pike and Stewart Lane for a report of a personal injury collision.

An investigation revealed that a 2009 Toyota Camry and a 2004 Suzuki Intruder motorcycle were slowing down for traffic while traveling northbound on Columbia Pike. A 2010 Toyota Prius was also traveling northbound on Columbia Pike but failed to stop in time and struck the rear of the motorcycle, causing the motorcycle to strike the Toyota Camry. The operator of the motorcycle was then ejected off of the bike.

Mark  Ecki, 57, sustained life-threatening injuries after being thrown off of his bike. He succumbed to his injuries Wednesday.

The driver of the Prius has been identified as Delicia Moore, 51,  and did not suffer any injuries from the collision. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
