The 2014 college football season starts this week and this will be the first year of the new playoff system. The Florida State Seminoles ended the 2013 season as the national champs and the Noles are ranked preseason #1 by every major news outlet. Leading the Seminoles is the much maligned Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston returning at quarterback. Winston has come under scrutiny due to some off field issues including a run-in with the law. When asked about the Seminoles 2014 season outlook, Helmick replied “there non-conference schedule takes a step up this year. There stacked from top to bottom and that’s why they are ranked #1.”
