Bengals Defensive Coordinator Paul Guenther Joins The Scott Garceau Show
Paul Gunther, defensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals, joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn and Femi Ayanbadejo to preview the season between the Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals, Scott asked if he is looking forward to making his debut as a defensive coordinator. "You have goals as a coach and you work towards those goals. You make a lot of sacrifices yourself and your family and such. So obviously when you get the chance to call the shots on Sundays and run a unit, it's an exciting time for me."
Mike Zimmer the former defensive coordinator of the Bengals was known league wide as one of the best coordinators in the NFL. Paul gets to take over for Zimmer, and said that he did leave an imprint on the Bengals defense. "Zim was great to work for. He got here in 2008 and we sort of put this system in from the ground up. He kind of built it to where it is today. He gave a lot of influence on the defense we went through and learning techniques and stuff from him was a great experience and certainly got me ready to do what I'm going to do on Sunday."
Paul's Bengals defense looks to stop the revamped Ravens offense on Sunday at 1pm.
