Eye On the Enemy: Carolina Panthers Preview

Mick Mixon with Scott & Jeremy

Mick Mixon, voice of the Play by Play, from the Carolina Panthers Radio Network joins The Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn and Jason La Canfora for the Ravens match up this weekend.

The guys asked Mick how Carolina was dealing with coming to Baltimore to face Steve Smith, who spent 13 years as a Carolina Panthers receiver and is now with the Ravens.  They asked if he thought Smith was chomping at the bit to play this game and he replied, "I think he already ate the bit."  Mixon did have a lot of positive to say about Smith by saying,  "it seems like he has really prospered and flourished with the Ravens and  we wouldn't mind if he got a 24 hour virus or if he just wasn't himself."

The Ravens have had a tough couple weeks with the Ray Rice situation and Mick was asked how everyone in his neck of the woods was handling the Greg Hardy situation and how the owners and coaches are handling it. "That would probably be where it is most stressful, the players and fans have adjusted great, but it has been really hard on Jerry Richardson and Ron Rivera ."

Kelvin Benjamin is a rookie wide receiver and was a first round NFL draft pick for the Panthers and was asked how he feels he is doing and how he looked in training camp.  "They all drop them occasionally, but he didn't drop one catch.  He's great at going to get the ball, he understands how he can use his length to catch the ball."
