WEATHER BLOG: Saturday

The showers currently on radar will exit the area over the next 2 to 3 hours then it will be dry the rest of the day. A cold front will move through later this morning and turn our winds from southwest to west. It will turn breezy today and gusts will be 25 to 30 mph at times. The day will start cloudy but with a downslope flow, clouds will break for some sunshine for the afternoon. Temperatures will rise very little from where they are currently. It will be chilly tonight with 40s downtown to 30s in some outlying areas. It will be the coldest night since April 25th when the low at BWI was 38. By tomorrow an area of high pressure will slide through the Southeast which will shift our winds from the west to the southwest. This however will not allow for our temperatures to warm much during the day as the colder air is locked in for the day. Temperatures at 850 mb will warm Monday and allow for a nice temperature bump of 8 to 10 degrees.

The next front will arrive early Wednesday but it will be starved for moisture so we are expecting dry weather. There will not be an airmass change behind the front and
temperatures will be similar Thursday if not higher than on Wednesday. Clouds will increase Thursday ahead of a system will bring our next threat of rain Friday.

For Game 3 of the ALDS in Detroit Sunday, it will be mostly cloudy and windy with a passing shower or two. It does not look like a situation where the game will be at risk of being delayed or rained out. Game time temperature will be around 54. Winds will be out of the southwest, which is a wind that blows from right to left field.

Have a great weekend!
