WEATHER BLOG: Sunday

Looking at current surface map we have high pressure over the Mid-Atlantic and a stationary boundary across the Carolinas which wraps around the Appalachian mountains into the TN Valley. This warm front will lift northward west of the Appalachian Mountains as a weak area of low pressure moves northward from Louisiana into Arkansas. Meanwhile a cold front will be moving through the central part of the Nation today with a low pressure developing in north Texas ahead of the base of the trough axis oriented across New Mexico. We will see a dry day locally today with high pressure
sliding off to our east. High pressure overnight and wet grounds have lead to areas of fog this morning across the region which will burn off in the morning hours and allow for a pretty sunny day. We will still be a couple degrees below normal today with highs in the lower 60s being well north of the frontal boundary. Tonight the high pressure will slide off to our east and the warm front will continue to flex north which will bring numerous showers across western PA/NY. With our winds shifting out of the south as high pressure is off to our east we could see a spotty shower today across
the region but most places will remain dry. Clouds will roll in overnight and come overcast for the night time period.

Tomorrow we will see a surface low strengthen across Missouri which will pull the warm front northward. This will allow for a couple showers to move through our region throughout the day. It will be rather cloudy but we will see unseasonably warm conditions.
