Brace Yourselves: The Big Chill Is Here

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Cold weather is coming. WJZ's First Warning Weather team will continue to update with the latest on the weather.

Monday, Nov. 17, 11:29 p.m.: Temperatures are dropping and it will feel even colder Tuesday. It will feel like it's only in the teens---or worse!---all day tomorrow.

Bob Turk has your latest.

Rain has moved out of the area. For tonight, lows will reach 24. It'll be windy and colder with clearing skies. We will drop below freezing overnight.

Winds will picking up speed to about 20 mph on Tuesday at some times. South and east of I-95 will feel like the 20s, north and west will feel like the teens and in the mountains it'll feel like it's in the single digits.

Tuesday's high will be 32 degrees.

Monday, Nov. 17, 12:52 p.m.: A good deal of rain across the region. Most areas have already picked up a quarter-of-an inch of rain. Some pockets of heavier stuff. Heavy rain pushing through Baltimore City currently. The rainfall is not expected to taper off until 4 p.m. this afternoon. High will reach 53 today.

But it's what's behind the rain that's the big deal. We've got cold air coming in and the wind as we head into tonight and tomorrow. Temperatures will drop into the mid 20s tonight.

Although there will be a good deal of sunshine Tuesday, it won't help warm us up.

Winds will be out of the west and northwest and 15 mph at times.

Wind chill will make it feel like the 10s and 20s tomorrow. 32 will be the high.

Wind Chill Forecast

Monday, Nov. 17 - 6:52 a.m.: It continues to be wet Monday. It'll become windy and cold tonight with lows in the mid 20s. Wind chills will be around 10-12, Marty Bass reports.

On Tuesday, it's expected to continue to be windy and cold. 33 will be the high, wind chills in the teens. But no snow this week, just cold.

Sunday, Nov. 16 - 12:05 p.m.: We're getting relatively mild temperatures Sunday, but a change is coming and it's not for the better.

Rain will move in Sunday night and stay for most of Monday. Baltimore will only see rain, but but areas north and west may see snow and sleet briefly Sunday night and again Monday night.

Behind this rain, we will see even colder temperatures.

Highs will only be in the 30s on Tuesday and Wednesday, but we will also deal with a great deal of wind on Tuesday, so it will feel even colder. It's expected to feel like it's in the teens on Tuesday and only 10 degrees that night.

The good news is, it will rebound to almost 50 degrees on Thursday.
