ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A driver who crashed his car while fleeing from a police officer in Montgomery County is in the hospital.

Montgomery County police say at around 9 p.m. on Saturday an officer came across a 2007 Honda Civic parked in a fire lane in front of a liquor store in Silver Spring. When the driver, 21-year-old Annal Upadhyaya, returned to the car the officer determined that he was driving with a suspended license and called a tow truck. When the tow truck arrived Upadhyaya jumped in the Honda and sped away.
