WEATHER BLOG: Near Record Lows
It was a cold start to this Tuesday morning, particularly when you factor in the wind chill. Today's low at BWI bottomed out at 24° early this morning. Here's a look at some other unofficial low temperatures from across the region this morning:
Today highs are forecast to top out in the low 30°s in central Maryland. Areas south will likely make it into the mid 30°.
Regardless of the actual temperature, it is going to FEEL much colder when you factor in the wind chill. Wind chill temperatures will range anywhere from the teens north & west of I-95 to the 20°s for areas south & east.
The coldest air will move in tonight & Wednesday morning as lows dip into the teens here in Baltimore.
Several spots will be challenging their record low temperature. The standing record low for Baltimore is 20° and the forecast is around 18°.
We will find out tomorrow morning if the forecast low varifies and if we did indeed break the long-standing record at BWI.
