WEATHER BLOG: Change Coming

Good evening, a bunch of precip is moving this way at this hour!.. Temperatures however are well above freezing so only a cold rain will break out overnight. Sometime during the morning as those temperatures begin to cool, especially in areas north and west of the city, that rain will mix then change to a wet snow. If the snow can come down heavily enough, it will likely accumulate on the grass and trees first then some slush will likely form on roads by later in the day. In the city, with roads still warm, it will be difficult for much snow to accumulate. The bulk of this precipitation will be over by about 7 or 8pm , but temps will fall close to freezing or below during the evening, which will likely cause some slush to freeze . Some spots above 500 feet to about 1000 feet in elevation may see several inches of snow build up ,and as much as 6 or 7 is possible well north of the local area. For areas south of the city, rain will be the main player with only small amounts of snow expected. Temperatures , elevation, and the final track of this storm will determine the exact amounts and precip. type tomorrow, yes its complicated. We will have an updated outlook tomorrow, so stay tuned!!
