WEATHER BLOG: Sleet, Messy Commute

I woke up to sleet this morning pounding on my skylight.

While it made for a great alarm clock (for me) this morning, it also made for a very messy commute for many. Winter weather advisories are in effect until 1PM for Harford, Baltimore & Carroll Counties.

Winter weather advisories for Frederick, Washington & Allegany counties will not expire until 1AM Wednesday. There is also a freezing rain advisory in effect for Garrett county.

Temps will stay in the 30s today, so expect a very cold & raw day with periods of rain/sleet/wet snow (mainly in the advisory areas) throughout the morning.

The threat for wintry weather will diminish this evening as warmer air moves in and temperatures move safely towards 40 degrees. We will warm up nicely tomorrow with highs making it into the mid and upper 50s for many spots.
