DC Man Gets 50 Years In Baltimore Man's Killing
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- A District of Columbia man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison in the killing of a stranger at a Prince George's County gas station.
In February, 27-year-old Eric Walker of Baltimore was pumping gas when 36-year-old Duane Lamar Williams approached with a gun. Police say Walker ran but Williams tackled and shot him.
An off-duty Metro police officer was in Walker's car at the time, and police say Williams tried to shoot him, too, but that the gun wouldn't fire. Williams was arrested after responding officers used a stun gun on him.
Prosecutors say there was seemingly no motive. Police say Williams was high on PCP when he shot Walker.
Williams was convicted of murder in the case. He was sentenced to 50 years in prison Thursday.
