Weather Blog: It's Going To Be Real Cold

Hi Everyone,

Let me make this brief. It's cold. It's going to be real cold.

But here is the cool part of the story, and there is absolutely NO pun intended here. Check this out. The big dome of high pressure dropping out of central Canada, and powering this frigid outbreak,  has one of the highest barometric pressures seen in recent weather history. As I write this at 6:30 AM, the barometer is at 30.02. Let's just see what it will rise to tomorrow. Resident weather geek, and meteorologist,  Chelsea Ingram was really amazing us with stats on this high yesterday. In pure science contact the earth is an amazing, and dynamic place. This high is proof.

The winds, driven by  this high will amp up during  afternoon. Today's high will be 27, but the reality is a "feel" of 10 degrees. Tonight the "feel" will be below zero on the wind chill scale, and tomorrow not too much better. Finally, that high blends in, the winds diminish and we just stay, standard, cold.

It is winter in Maryland HON's..all the above to be expected. Look at it this way, we are one day closer to Spring. (That is a mantra you will be reading here a lot this Winter!!)
