Hearing Delayed For Man Charged With Shooting At Drivers
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- The man charged with shooting at drivers in Maryland and at a National Security Agency building will now appear in court next week.
Hong Young was expected to have a bond hearing on Friday, but bad weather closed the courts. He's charged with attempted murder and assault for a Feb. 24 shooting that injured a 61-year-old man near Arundel Mills mall.
The shooting was the first in a string of them reported in central Maryland in the past week. Neighboring police departments launched a large-scale manhunt, which ended Tuesday when Young was arrested at Arundel Mills mall.
Court documents show that Young told police that he heard voices telling him to shoot at a random driver last week.
No attorney is listed for Young in online court records.
