WEATHER BLOG: Comfortable Temps, FINALLY!

A series of fronts will swing through the area this weekend. But, fortunately, there will be no arctic air behind these fronts. We should have comfortable temperatures, especially with respect to what we have seen. The atmosphere will be well mixed over the next couple of days, so we should squeeze out every degree we can. Although, there will be a breeze to contend with each of the next few afternoons. Sunday is a milder day than Saturday everywhere thanks to a dry wind shift from the west. The biggest and most immediate concern is refreezing over the next few nights because of daytime melting.
Main forecast issue is how to handle the rain on Tuesday. Its a southern branch feature, so these are usually slower. We may need to limit the rain until the afternoon, but it's a little too soon to say for sure. Wednesday is slated to be the warmest day of the week. Fingers crossed this works out.
Overall... generally quiet weather across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic over the next several days. A couple of weak upper-level impulses will cause scattered flurries and isolated rain showers in parts of Pennsylvania, western and central New York and northern New England this weekend, but most will fail to make it past the Appalachian Mountains and higher terrain. High pressure builds off the Southeast coast on Monday, making for a very pleasant day with sunshine. Near or above normal temperatures for the week ahead. (Normal high and low: 51°& 31°).
