Carroll County Deputies Ask For Help Naming A New K9 Puppy

CARROLL COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) -- The newest member of the Carroll County Sheriff's Office has two low-hanging ears and four legs.

The deputies welcomed a 4-month-old female bloodhound puppy to its K9 team. But now, they need a name for her.

The puppy will be trained by the Maryland State Police and will be tasked with searching for missing people, criminals who have fled police and prison and assist investigators in developing potential crime leads.

If you'd like to help name the puppy, send your suggestions to ccsopuppycontest@gmail.com -- only emailed name will be considered -- by March 29.

You should include any history behind the name suggested.

The sheriff's office will make a decision by April 2.
