Taking A Look At The College Hoops Weekend

Bleacher Report Bracketologist Kerry Miller joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to take a look at the remaining games in the Regional Semi-Finals and the Regional Finals. St. John's, a tournament team this year, is looking for a new Head Coach after the Red Storm and Steve Lavin decided to part ways after failing to come to an agreement on a new contract. Kerry talked about who could be the new head coach in New York and what challenges they could face.  "I think my wild card pick, a lot of people are throwing out Chris Mullin and Dan Hurley, but I think Mark Jackson would be a phenomenal fit there. Brooklyn native, graduated from St. Johns in I think 1987, and he's certainly not working with the Warriors anymore. I think he would be a good fit, he could certainly keep the pipeline going and I think that is the real key right now. It might be an enticing job but they're losing 4 seniors, one of their other key players was suspended for drug use and might not be back next year... They've got a lot of recruiting to do there at St. John's so they need someone who can get right in to the pipeline for them."

A lot of fans are unhappy with the pace of the game, and the NCAA is taking that into consideration. Scott and Jeremy asked Kerry if there are any changes he would like to see made in College Basketball. "I'm definitely down for some changes. I think what they're doing in the NIT with the 30 second shot clock and the expanded charge circle. I think that's a good way to go, I'd like to see us implement defensive 3 second violations, just so we don't have so many charges... I don't have a problem with the pace of the game."
