Firefighters Extricate Man Trapped In Conveyor Belt

CHAPEL OAKS, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County fire officials say firefighters were able to extricate a man who got his legs entangled in a conveyor belt at a recycling center in Capitol Heights.

Fire officials say the man suffered traumatic injuries to both legs. He was taken to a trauma center with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Firefighters were called to the recycling center around 10:15 Saturday morning. Fire officials say the man with his legs trapped was conscious, breathing and in pain, and medics were nearby as the first arriving firefighters extricated him.
