2nd Person Charged In Attempted Murder Of Maryland Police Officer

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) -- Anne Arundel County police have charged another person in the attempted murder of one of their police officers.

The charges stem from an incident on the morning of April 10 outside an Annapolis 7-Eleven.

Police have charged 29-year-old Danielle Nicole Blake of Severn with conspiracy to commit attempted first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, handgun use in commission of a violent crime.

Police previously charged 30-year-old Colvin Lamar White of Annapolis with the same attempted murder charges, plus use of a number of weapons charges in the officer's shooting.

According to police, officers responded to the 720 College Parkway East to assist an officer who was checking on a suspicious person. The officer was not responding on his radio.

When officers arrived, they found Cpl. Larry Adams suffering from a gunshot wound in his upper body.

Adams told the officers he had arrived to the 7-Eleven not for a call for service but was told by a witness there was a suspicious person outside the store. When he went to investigate, an altercation ensued, the suspect fled and the officer followed him.

Witnesses heard a gunshot and police believe the suspect shot the officer and fled.

Officers charged the suspects within days of the shooting.
