WEATHER BLOG: Lower Temps, More Rain

Hi Everyone!

Last week the temps were about 15 degrees  above normal, in some places. This day we will average about 15 degrees below normal in some places. And therein lay the story line of the morning for me..the temps.

We have a stationary front stalled just North of Laurel. Right now, as I write this at 7 AM, it is 57 degrees in Bel Air. But in Easton it is currently 70. And I would suspect this split temp forecast remains with us through the day.

This is a perfect example of when we discuss temps "ahead of a frontal boundary, and behind it." Whether it is a warm front or cold front you see the same gradation. It is impressive when that frontal boundary bisects the region.

Because of that stalled front we will keep showers in the forecast until tomorrow night. Of the three days, yesterday-today-tomorrow, this will be the least wet and least potentially severe day. But keep an umbrella handy because at times you will need it.

And then the need for a jacket? Well it just depends on where you will be this day.
