Sykesville Man Charged With Soliciting Prostitute

ANNE ARUNDEL, Md. (AP) -- A Sykesville man is facing two prostitution charges after Anne Arundel County police say he arranged to meet with an undercover officer online and solicited sexual activity in exchange for payment last fall.

The Carroll County Times reports 49-year-old Craig Ellis Dawkins was served with an arrest warrant in Carroll County Monday, taken to the detention center for processing and released.

Officers say in November 2014, an Anne Arundel County officer was posing as a prostitute with an advertisement on a website. Later, Dawkins spoke with the officer and arranged to meet him at a Linthicum hotel.

A criminal summons was issued in February but was not served, according to electronic court files. A warrant for Dawkins' arrest was issued June 5. A court date has not been set.
