Police Search For Person Who Shot Two Dogs

WALDORF, Md. (WJZ) -- A Maryland woman looking for her two missing dogs made a grisly discovery. She found her labrador retrievers, Binelli and Bear, dead from gunshot wounds.

Mary Bubala has more.

The animals were found on a remote corner of owner Cindy Thorne's farm, Zekiah Farm, in Charles County. One was in a pasture and the other was found 150 yards away in the thick woods of Zekiah Swamp.

"It scares me now to walk around," she said, adding that she's worried about the other animals and livestock on her farm.

They were officially her son Tyler Thorne's pets, but they were part of the fabric of the family-run operation.

There were nearly 400 condolences left on the farm's Facebook page.

The dogs were buried at the entrance to the farm, a spot temporarily marked by a cedar pole while Tyler constructs a proper memorial.

A reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.

If you have any information, please call the Charles County Sheriff's Office.
