WEATHER BLOG: Big Rain

Hi everyone.

Big rain overnight has the ground saturated, and big rain coming in later could become quite problematic. And there you have the day in a nutshell. But for as foul as our weather is today, we got REALLY lucky and missed a derecho. A big one.

This has been all over the network for the past two days. It got its start over the Great Lakes, and has crushed its way down across the Ohio Valley, and is now moving through the Carolinas. Sorry for all those folks, but for this one, we got to sit in the stands and watch.

Back to this day. I, we, have already been notified that additional advisories are expected from, roughly, 2:30 this afternoon through 2 a.m. tomorrow morning for additional flooding problems. I am pretty sure grilling out tonight is not a very good idea. And if you are holding tickets to the Taylor Swift concert in D.C., take a poncho for sure.

Slow clearing tomorrow and then it looks like a couple of really good days to end the week with.
