More Fans, More Fun At This Year's Ravens Training Camp

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—Football is just around the corner but today Ravens hit the field for the first day of training camp.

WJZ's Jessica Kartalija has more on what to expect at this year's training camp.

Ravens interns are hard at work, putting together passes for thousands of lucky fans who won tickets to training camp through the Ravens lottery.

"We are expanding the footprint here to be able to host more fans that we were in the past," said Bob Eller, Senior V.P. of Operations for the Ravens.

Eller says they are trying to double the attendance this year and always looking for ways to accommodate fans.

Officials say this year, Ravens secured parking at a park across the street, so that means, 1, 2, 3 times the number of fans!

Bleachers will be on all sides of the practice fields to accommodate 13,000 fans, like the old days, when the team trained in Westminster.

"We knew it was a disappointment to a lot of fans who came out to watch us practice.  We know how important that is, so we are trying to take as many steps as we can to help make our practices available," Eller said.

Behind the bleachers there's a fan zone where kids can play. Eller says the fan zone allows kids to be interactive while mom and dad catch the practice. Kids can even get an autograph after the practice!

The facility is in perfect condition as training camp gets underway.

If you weren't able to get tickets to the Ravens training camp in Owings Mills don't worry you're in luck!

On August 3, 2015, all are welcome to attend a free event at M&T Bank Stadium.
