1 Dead In Route 30 Crash Involving Tractor-Trailer, Car

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) --  Route 30 has reopened after police shut it down in both directions as they investigated a fatal crash.

The road was closed between Emory Road and Butler Road for several hours Monday morning after a tractor-trailer truck and Hyundai passenger car collided.

Police were called to the scene around 7:28 a.m.

The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured, police report, but the woman driving the Hyundai was transported to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center where she later died due to her injuries.

Police identified the victim as 37-year-old Neely Tal Snyder of Pikesville.

The preliminary investigation showed a Hyundai Elentra being driven by Snyder was stopped on north-bound Route 30 waiting to make a left turn onto Mount Gilead Road.

A 2015 Peterbuilt Tractor that had been north-bound on Route 30 struck the Hyundai from behind.

Police continue to investigate the accident.
