Detectives: Delaware Woman Tried To Hire Hit Man In Md.

DELMAR, Md. (AP) -- A Delaware woman has been accused of trying to hire a hit man to kill her brother-in-law.

According to charging documents, Wicomico Bureau of Investigation Detective Tom Funk says 47-year-old Corinna Joy of Selbyville met with a friend at his home in Delmar, Maryland and asked him if he would kill her brother-in-law. She was taken into custody on Friday and charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

Investigators say she spoke to the man and provided the target's name, address and photos of his home. According to charging documents, the friend alerted authorities, with Joy later returning to the friend's home to give him money to buy a gun.

She faces up to life in prison if convicted. It was not immediately clear if she has an attorney.
