Start Of Regular Season Now '4th And Inches' For Excited Ravens Fans

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Could this be another championship year for the Ravens? Fans are feeling confident after Sports Illustrated predicts a big year for the team.

Amy Yensi has more on the growing excitement.

Ravens fans are always thinking positive about the team's chances, but now they have a big reason to bet on Baltimore.

At Wild Bill's in Nottingham, a new football season means one thing--time to stock up on Ravens gear.

"The top of the line is the Ravens. We stand behind them 100 percent," said Larry Jackson.

Fans are feeling extra confident the Ravens will win Super Bowl 50.

Wild Bill's store assistant Ken Piles says a victory would boost sales and the city's morale.

"Number one, we've got pride in our team, and that exudes right through the rest of the city. People are proud of Baltimore," Piles said.

That purple pride was on full display at the Ravenstown Celebration at the Maryland State Fair, where Ravens great Matt Stover greeted the crowd.

"I think it's definitely possible. I think they definitely have what it takes if they work together as a team," said Ashley Hickey.

"They definitely know how to work together very well and they don't quit. They get pushed down and they get back up," one fan said.

As fans posed for pictures with the team's two super bowl trophies, their focus was on the possibility of a third.

"Takes a little bit of luck, but we've got a team that... Just a little tweak here, little tweak there. I believe we can go all the way," said Piles.

The pundit who made the prediction was actually right about last year's Super Bowl. Let's just hope he gets it right again.

The Ravens regular season opener is on Sunday, Sept. 13. They take on the Denver Broncos.
