Terps Football Preview With Keith Cavanaugh
Keith Cavanaugh with the Terrapin Times joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to preview the Terrapins 2015 football team.
There has been a lot of change for the Terps football team heading into this season. Keith notes all of the new pieces for Maryland, " New defense, new defensive coordinator, two new assistants, a tweaked offense towards a pro style, a new quarterback and a freshman punter."
Keith went on to say that the Terps' success hinges on the play at quarterback, "it all starts with Perry Hills. He was a third string guy, a lot of people thought maybe he would be on the way out this summer if he didn't get into the top pecking order. But nobody grabbed the reigns in camp except him. He's a grinder, old school, blue collar guy, its not always pretty but he's the starter tomorrow and we'll see how long it lasts."
One of the strengths of Maryland's team is their defensive secondary. Keith raves about Sean Davis, "The biggest move right after the season and last year was moving Sean the All American Senior from Safety to Corner. Very versatile guy in the eyes of pro scouts. Likely an all american Jim Thorpe candidate at Corner, kick return and punt return but clearly the strength of this team is in the defensive secondary."
