Disturbing Revelations From Jared Fogle Audio Recordings

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Twisted behavior. More, and new, disturbing revelations come from secret audio recordings of former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle on how he lured and sexually abused children.

Derek Valcourt with what's in those recordings and why parents should be aware.

The recordings essentially detail how Jared says he would groom and choose some of his victims. And a word of caution -- everything he says is pretty upsetting -- some of it was too disturbing to air on our newscast.

When authorities raided the home of 38-year-old Jared Fogle, they uncovered evidence of child pornography and child sex abuse. But now, FBI informant Rochelle Herman-Walrond's secret recordings of phone conversations with Fogle reveal more about his deep interest in sex with children.

Herman-Walrond: "Tell me about the best time that you've ever had when you've done that."

Fogle: "It just felt so good. I mean, it felt so good."

Herman-Walrond: "How old?"

Fogle: "Like 11, 12, something like that."

Federal prosecutors say they were aware of the recordings and took them into account when they charged Fogle.

Herman-Walrond: "What ages seem to be the easiest?"

Fogle: "Early middle school is probably one of the best. They're very much into exploring. Just a matter of getting them 'on your side,' you know?"

Former journalist Rochelle Herman-Walrond says for five years she pretended to be Fogle's friend while recording him for the FBI.

"At one point, he called me and was telling me about a six-year-old little girl," Herman-Walrond said. "He was flying over to see her, and from the way the conversation was going, it sounded as though the parents were OK with this. And then I called the FBI."

In the recordings, he graphically describes sexual encounters with children and asks the informant to help him set up more.

Herman-Walrond: "What was your first time, and with whom?"

Fogle: "It was probably in Thailand, I guess."

Herman-Walrond: "Well, you can't go to Thailand all the time."

Fogle: "That's why I've got to find some stuff over here."

Fogle's sentencing has been set for November 19. As part of a plea deal, Fogle has agreed to pay restitution to 14 victims.

Fogle was married and has two children. His wife divorced him after his FBI arrest.
