Woman Sentenced To 10 Years For Fatally Stabbing Husband

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A woman has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for fatally stabbing her husband, an Army sergeant stationed at Fort Meade.

Thirty-two-year-old Marquita Sutton was sentenced Tuesday in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court. She had entered an Alford plea to second-degree murder in the death of Army Sgt. 1st Class Johnnie Sutton III.

Prosecutors say on Dec. 12, 2013, Marquita Sutton stabbed and cut her husband more than 120 times in their home.

Authorities say she wrapped her husband's body in garbage bags and covered him with blankets, and put hid bloody clothes in a near business' trash container, the Capital of Annapolis reports (http://bit.ly/1L9ngPX).
