Captiol Christmas Tree Arrives From Alaska
WASHINGTON (WJZ)-- In D.C., the Capitol Christmas tree has arrived all the way from Alaska!
This is the first Capitol Christmas tree to travel some 4,000 miles by boat and truck and the first from the 49th state.
The iconic tree has been a Washington tradition since 1964.
Its decorations will include thousands of ornaments made by children and others from Alaskan communities.
The tree lighting ceremony is scheduled for December 2nd.
