Maryland Officials Report Possible Police Impersonator

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Maryland officials are alerting drivers to a possible police impersonator.

The Maryland State Police says that on Tuesday morning a female diver reported that a black Chevrolet SUV displaying red and blue flashing lights had attempted to stop her on I-70 westbound in Washington County.

State Police said in a statement that the woman stopped and that the vehicle pulled in behind her. The woman told authorities that the vehicle had a Montana license plate and that she stayed in her vehicle with the windows up and called 911.

State Police say that as a man got out of the vehicle and approached the woman's car she told him through the closed window that she had called 911. State Police say the man returned to his vehicle and left.
