Man Fatally Shot After Confrontation In Waldorf Parking Lot

WALDORF, Md. (AP) -- The Charles County Sheriff's Office says a man was fatally shot after a confrontation with another person in Waldorf.

It happened about 2 p.m. Wednesday in a parking lot on Rooks Head Place, the department said in a news release. Deputies who went to the scene for a reported shooting found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Authorities say the victim and another person had a confrontation and the other person produced a gun and shot the victim.

Police say the man died after being taken to a hospital. Deputies have not identified the victim, pending the notification of relatives.
