Officer Removes Snake From Prince George's Co. Home

OXON HILL, Md. (AP) -- A Prince George's County police officer helped remove a snake from an Oxon Hill home, and it was captured on camera.

WTTG-TV first reported Troy Fleet called police Sunday after discovering the snake on the floor of his mother's apartment. Prince George's County police say normally, such calls are routed to animal control, but patrol Officer Logan Peed decided to take on the perpetrator.

Police spokesman Officer Tyler Hunter says Peed guided his night stick behind the snake's head, grabbed the head from behind and carried the snake out.

Peed let the snake go in some nearby woods. No one was injured in the incident.

Prince George's County later police tweeted about the snake-capturing incident, "Proves there is no such thing as a routine call. Glad we could help!"
