Child Dies After Accidentally Shooting Himself In SW Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore police are investigating after a four-year-old boy reportedly shot himself Saturday morning. The boy died of his injuries later Saturday.

It happened around 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Police officials say the gun was found in the home.

Police say he is the son of a law enforcement officer but he is not in the Baltimore City police force. The officer was not identified; authorities also did not say which law enforcement group he was with. The weapon used was not his service weapon.

The officer was at work at the time of the accidental shooting.
