WEATHER BLOG: Pleasant February Day

It has been a very pleasant February day outside today. As of this writing, temps are in the mid 40s. The current satellite and water vapor imagery is very impressive, showing a storm developing off the coast. This storm will brush by us, bringing little impacts to the region. It will be a second storm system that sweeps through the area later Monday night. This is a hard one to put details on right now, but we will see some snow from this system. It will likely start out as rain Monday evening then transition to all snow overnight. The bulk of the snow will fall Tuesday and Tuesday night. I am currently thinking that 1-3 inches of accumulation sounds very reasonable for the greater Baltimore area. The upper end of possibilities is probably no more than 6 inches, if that. We turn mainly dry and colder Wednesday through Friday. A stronger blast of Arctic air should arrive this weekend.
