WEATHER BLOG: Big Chill Coming

The coldest air of the winter will descend on us this weekend. An arctic front, which may be accompanied by some snow showers, will cross the region later Friday night. Temperatures on Saturday will start to fall during the day from the low 20s into the low single digits by Sunday morning. We will have some sunshine, but the winds will likely create wind chills below zero later in the day all across the region. Winds will lighten up on Sunday, but we will likely reach only 20 degrees! Some winter-type precipitation will start on Monday and it will likely start as snow then gradually mix with rain, sleet and even some freezing rain before it warms up enough on Tuesday to bring plain rain back for a while. More on this system this weekend. For now, stay warm, dress accordingly and protect your pets as well!
