Former Md. School Aide Charged With 13 Counts Of Sexual Exploitation Of Minors

GREENBELT, Md. (WJZ) -- A federal grand jury indicted a former school aide in Prince George's County in the sexual exploitation of 11 minors.

Twenty two-year-old Deonte Carraway of Glenarden faces 13 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor to produce child pornography.

According to court documents, Carraway was an assistant at the Judge Sylvania Woods Elementary School.

Last week, a criminal complaint was filed against Carraway -- including eight counts with six victims.

"Federal authorities will continue to work with Prince George's County police and prosecutors to identify additional victims, provide appropriate counseling, and hold the perpetrator accountable," said U.S. Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein.

According to the indictment, Carraway coerced and persuaded children to engage in sexual explicit conduct in order to produce video from Oct. 11 , 2015 to Feb. 1, 2016.

He met the victims at the school where he worked and recruited others from his choir group.

Carraway was arrested on Feb. 4 and remains detained.

He faces a minimum mandatory sentence of 15 years in prison and a maximum of 30 years in prison for each of the counts.

Carraway's scheduled to appear in federal court Friday at 2 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing and investigators are asking anyone with information about possible victims or details about Carraway to call 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324).
