Adam Jones Revives 'Dangerous' Pie Tradition After Orioles Home Opener Win
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A little more than a month ago, Adam Jones announced on Twitter that his beloved post-home game pie smash tradition had to be discontinued for safety reasons.
But following a walk-off single by Matt Wieters that gave the Orioles a 3-2 win over the Twins at the home opener, Jones surprised the masses and delivered an orange dessert to the catcher's face.
Word is... it was cake. Not pie.
So, maybe the custom is not dead as many in Birdland had feared.
