1 Dead, 1 Injured After Car Crashes Through Seafood Restaurant

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—A man is dead after police say he lost control of his vehicle early this morning in Baltimore.

It happened around midnight in the 200 block of South Monroe Street.

Police say the driver of a Toyota Solara was traveling southbound on S. Monroe St. when they went off the road and struck two parking meters. The vehicle then hit a set of concrete steps before crashing into the front window of Bay Island Crab Shack, located in the 1900 block of W. Pratt St.

The driver was identified as 31-year-old Donte James. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 30-year-old passenger was also injured in the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
