Baltimore County Man Encourages Everyone To Write On His 'Chalkboard Truck'

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- It's not everyday that people encourage others to vandalize their vehicle, but that's what James Haddaway does every day, in a sense, ever since he covered his truck in "chalkboard paint."

Haddaway, who lives in Parkville, says he originally thought it would be a unique way for people to vent.

"If you write it down, take it off your chest, things might be a little bit better," he said.

He has gotten some political and disgruntled messages, but he's also seen fun, loving notes and doodles scrawled on the bed of his modified S-10.

"The ones who get he most fun out of it are the kids," he said.

If you want to write a message on the "chalkboard truck," Haddaway says you can sometimes catch him parked at Pappas, the Valley View Inn, Home Depot and Shop Rite, though he's also seen people get out and tag the truck at a long stop light.

The chalk, in case you run into him, is kept in a can attached to the truck's wooden bumper.
