Slain Singer's New Jersey Hometown Plans Vigil In Her Honor

EVESHAM TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Christina Grimmie's home town in New Jersey is preparing to say farewell.

Evesham Township will hold a candlelight vigil to honor the 22-year-old singer who was fatally shot after a concert in Florida. It's due to start at 8:45 p.m. Monday at the town's Memorial Complex.

Grimmie was shot Friday night as she signed autographs after a show in Orlando. A motive for the shooting hasn't been determined.

Authorities say she apparently had no personal connection to the man who shot her. The gunman fatally shot himself after being tackled by her brother.

Grimmie was a YouTube star widely known from her appearances on NBC's "The Voice" two years ago.

She lived in Evesham, a small community about 20 miles from Philadelphia, before moving to Los Angeles in 2012.
