Pedestrian Hospitalized After Being Struck In Glen Burnie

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) -- An Anne Arundel County woman was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car in Glen Burnie late Monday night, according to police.

Rochelle Hall, 47, of Glen Burnie, was trying to cross Andover Road near where it meets Broadview Boulevard before 11 p.m. when she walked into the path of a Volkswagen Passat heading north on Andover, witnesses told investigators. She was thrown forward by the impact.

Paramedics rushed Hall to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore for treatment. At last check, her condition was not known.

The Volkswagen's driver, identified as Viktor Brown, 52, of Mount Vernon, N.Y., stayed at the scene. He was not hurt.

Based on their initial findings, investigators say Hall is to blame for the crash by failing to yield the right of way to vehicular traffic. They say a lack of street lighting near the scene may also have played a role.
