Man Charged With Drawing Gun In Argument Outside Md. Bar
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Frederick police say they arrested a man who drew a loaded handgun during an argument outside a bar.
Police said in a news release that 26-year-old Iman James was barred from possessing a handgun because of his previous criminal history. He's been charged with first-degree assault and other offenses.
Police say a bicycle officer saw the argument outside the Olde Towne Tavern early Saturday morning. Police say a man later identified as James pulled a handgun, racked the slide and turned toward the others. The officer intervened and the armed man ran away.
Police say James threw his handgun into a yard during the chase. Police found it and discovered that it was loaded.
No attorney for James is listed in court records. He's being held on $500,000 bond.
