Guilty Plea for Man Who Opened Fire On Aberdeen Officer
ABERDEEN, Md. (WJZ)—A man accused of shooting an Aberdeen Police Officer last year has pleaded guilty on Monday.
The shooting happened last December just after 3 a.m. when Aberdeen Officer Jason Easton was investigating a report of suspicious activity in the 500 block of Ohio Court.
That's when 21-year-old Tyler Scott Testerman pulled out a shotgun and fired a shot, hitting the officer with six to eight projectiles. Investigators have recovered that .410 caliber shotgun.

The manhunt ended about ten miles away from the scene at his girlfriend's house in Edgewood. As a SWAT team approached, Testerman surrendered.
Officer Easton, who sustained a severe eye injury as a result of the shooting, continues to recover from this incident and has not returned to full duty.
Police say Testerman, who was on probation at the time of his arrest, was sentenced to 78 years with all suspended except for 41 years in the Maryland Department of Corrections. The first 5 years of his sentence are mandatory and are without the possibility of parole.
